BGS Boys retain annual golf trophy against Old Boys

Bury Grammar School Boys faced the BGS Old Boys in the annual golf fixture on Friday.

The School, as the holders, entered four pairings composed of a mixture of Year 9, Year 12 and Year 13 boys, along with two staff members.

The weather on the day was poor and the soggy conditions made play difficult.

However, didn't slow down the lead pairing of Luke and Sam from decimating their opponents 5&3 and staking BGS to an early lead.

The School’s second pairing lost their match, and with the staff team losing over the final two holes, the pressure was on Charlie and Ben to win their pairing.

Thankfully, they held their nerve and left the final score at 2-2, with the School retaining the trophy as a result.

Sam won the student prize for best overall score, with Joe Brinscoe winning the old boys competition.

Congratulations to all the boys who took part.
