Girls enjoy Harry Potter themed book night

Before half term February, the Bury Grammar School Girls' visitors room was transformed into a Hogwarts common room in celebration of our ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them’ themed Harry Potter Book Night.

The event ran throughout the day with our wannabe wizards bringing to life an assortment of magical creatures including the incorrigible Niffler and the more retiring Bowtruckle during our lunchtime craft sessions.

There were Golden Snitches a plenty and oodles of liquid luck as students also tackled making their own Potter inspired necklaces.

The event was rounded off by a candlelit screening of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them – complete with Zara Stafford’s spectacular four tiered Hogwarts House cake.

Congratulations are also in order for joint winners of our fiendishly tricky quiz - Kaya Williams and Maddy Osborne (Year 9).

Special mention should also be made of our runner up - Leila Abdalla (Year 8), whose research skills and perseverance would have made Hermione Granger proud!
