Bury Grammar School's Science department was delighted to welcome Brian Walton from BAM Nuttall, a leading civil engineering contractor, to talk to students.
Mr Walton has worked in the engineering industry, and specifically the railway sector, since leaving school in 1979 and is currently Operations Manager where he is responsible for a large team.
20 students from Year 9 and above attended the talk where they learned more about Mr Walton's own career and engineering more generally.
It was fascinating to learn about the opportunities that a career within this exciting STEM field can offer and I know our students were very grateful to hear about this first-hand from such an experienced and inspirational individual.
Our next Science talk is to take place on Monday 28th January and will be focussed on 3D printing.
