Bury Grammar School was delighted to present a cheque of over one thousand pounds to Teenage Cancer Trust following our Heartbeat Bury event in October.
Teenage Cancer Trust were the boys' chosen charity for Heartbeat Bury, which saw them taking part in a range of activities relating to living a healthy lifestyle and running distances of up to 5000 metres.
Mrs S Howard, Head of Year 7 (Boys) and Head of PSHEE at BGS, said: "The Heartbeat Bury event is a fantastic way for our Year 7 pupils to learn about the importance of physical and mental well-being and to put their learning into practice through the sponsored run. I am so pleased that our Year 7 boys raised such a wonderful about of money for Teenage Cancer Trust and they should be very proud of themselves. Thank you to Michelle White for visiting us and speaking to the boys in assembly about ways in which money from fundraising is used to support teenagers and their families at such a difficult time. We are looking forward to welcoming Teenage Cancer Trust back in March when they will be presenting to our Year 10 boys and girls."
