Boys' Sports Report- Week Ending 27/04/2018

The Year 7 football team were unlucky to be defeated on penalties in their Bury Schools’ game.

Year 9 faired better with a 7-0 win Against Tottington High School.

Well done to all the boys in Years 7 and 8 that turned up to the cricket nets on Saturday.

They enjoyed using the bowling machine. Well done for showing commitment to sport on a Saturday.

There are fixtures this week to look forward to against Ormskirk.

Year 7 boys Kameron and Joe took part in Rochdale Rugby Union Football Club tour at the weekend.

The tour included a warm-up game on the Saturday and the Whitchurch Festival on Sunday.

The boys played in five hard-fought games, winning their place into the Showcase final.

Rochdale under-12s won the game convincingly 3-0 to become Festival Champions.

Over the Easter holidays, Year 6 boy Frank took part in a swimming gala for Swim Stars Gala at Wilmslow pool and won gold and silver medals.

Frank won front crawl and cane second in backstroke, and also got to meet Rebecca Adlington at the gala who gave out medals.

Year 10 boy Chris has completed a 2.5k Swimathon to raise money for charities such as Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie.

The event was particularly poignant in the week leading up to the event as his grandad passed away as a result of suffering from Acute myeloid leukemia and prostate cancer.
