Design & Technology Club to participate in 'I'm an Engineer, Get me out of here'

Pupils in Year 7 and 8 Design and Technology Club will be participating in ‘I’m an Engineer, Get me out of here’ between 5-16 November 2018.

This is an online event where school students meet and interact with engineers. It’s an X Factor-style competition between engineers, where the students are the judges.

Students challenge the engineers over fast-paced online live CHATs. They ASK the engineers anything they want, and VOTE for their favourite engineer to win a prize of £500 to communicate their work with the public.

Students become more enthused about STEM, learn how Science, Maths, and D&T lessons relate to real life, and see that engineers are normal people. One student from each zone will be chosen to win a gift voucher for their participation and engagement with the engineers.

Parental Engagement!

We are encouraging students to show their parents and carers the ‘I’m an Engineer, Get me out of here’ site and introduce them to the engineers in an evening live chat, from 7pm-8pm on Wednesday 14th November 2018. Parents and carers can meet the engineers and ask them about what it’s like working in STEM.

If your child is taking part, they will have a login card to access the site. Log in with your child from 7pm and click the CHAT button.
