The Reception children have settled well after the half term break and have enthusiastically engaged with this term's topic all about the beach. The children are beginning to explore different aspects of the beach with audio clues, tasks and challenges to inspire and excite, all finished off with plenty of ice creams from the role play parlour!
Reception have been thinking about staying safe at the beach and have put together an amazing set of instructions as a class which they are really proud of. Their individual pieces were equally super too! Reception are really enjoying their new topic and especially like using our pirate ship we have made in our outside area to help us get into role for our Summer concert. Letters to pirates have given opportunity to some fantastic written work.
From pea pods to radishes the children have been excitably tending to their outdoor area this week. They have been exploring what has been growing over the half term and beginning to plant for the coming months. We are starting to look at transport and travel and will be exploring in more detail where some of our food comes from and how it gets to us. Please use this as an opportunity to discuss further at home.
With the good weather, the children in Pre-School have enjoyed sharing more of their learning opportunities both focused and free in the outdoor areas, with phonics, maths, and challenges.
If you have anything travel related at home, (such as tickets, postcards, artefacts) please do send them in with your child and if we can, we will share it with the children over the coming weeks.
