Former BGS Captain opens new musical at The Playground Theatre in London

Neil Marcus develops new British musicals and his latest show, Fanatical, is opening in November at The Playground Theatre.

As well as being School Captain and enjoying Verse Speaking, Neil was fully involved with drama and music at Bury Grammar School and a prize is still presented at Prize Giving in his name (The Marcus Cup for Drama).

Neil said: "My love of theatre was sparked at Bury Grammar School by Mr Edwards and Mr Mills – I had the pleasure of performing in a number of great works – plays like The Importance Of Being Earnest and The Government Inspector, classic musicals like Guys & Dolls , Operettas and Operas including Carmen and a range of Gilbert & Sullivan and wonderful choral works from Carmina Burana to Mozart’s Requiem."

Fanatical is a new musical which takes place at a convention centre for cult TV show Angel 8. In a distant Galaxy - the ragtag misfit crew of cargo ship Angel 8 are under the command of fearless pilot Iris Aucht. Meanwhile... at a conference centre, somewhere in England – a ragtag misfit collection of 1,000 fans gather from all across the UK for Eight Con One, the first ever official convention of the cult TV show Angel 8.

Fanatical is about being true to oneself, finding love against the odds, and snatching triumph from the jaws of disaster - proving that no power in the universe can keep a story from its fans.

Please find the crowdfund page below where you can support the show, hear from the performers and hear a couple of the songs from the show.
