Girls' Sports Report - 08/02/2019

Well done to Frankie in Year 5 who won The Salford Synchronised swimming team's academy swimmer of the year on Saturday night.

Frankie received the award at their annual presentation evening.

She has just been given a place in the Salford Synchronised Swimming Squad and also swims on Monday mornings at school, and every other week with her class.

On top of this Frankie is expected to do at least two swim sessions per week as part of her competitive swim training that she does for Salford swim stars.

Connie Myers, our Thunder Netball star played against the Leeds Rhinos Under 15 squad at Belle Vue in a warm up game before the main Superleague match.

Connie’s team won 71-38. Connie has described it as a proud moment when she was selected for the match squad as there are 20 girls in her age group. She performed really well at WA holding her own against string competition. Connie has been training every Wednesday for 3 hours since September showing her true commitment to her sport. We are extremely proud of Connie and pleased that she has been able to gain experience on the match Court on Manchester Thunder.

On Wednesday, the Year 11 and Senior netballers played against Bolton School.

Both teams were victorious, defeating tough opposition.

The Year 11 team won 22-11 and the Seniors held their nerve in a closely contested game to win 16-11.

Well done to all those who played.
