Girls' Sports Report - 16/11/2018

Congratulations to the Year 10 Netball team who beat Alderley Edge School for Girls in Round 3 of the SnS National Netball Cup 41-29 on Monday.

Some great attacking play by Lily Herman enabled lots of shooting opportunities.

A great performance from the whole squad. We now look forward to Round 4 which will be played before the Christmas Holidays.

The squad have had double success this week beating St Monicas 19-10 in the Bury Netball League.

We were delighted to welcome Richard Phillips, a Community Rugby Coach with Sale Sharks, in to School this week to deliver rugby coaching sessions with the senior girls.

Sale Sharks Community Trust are delivering a project called Project Rugby which aims to reach over 12,000 participants by Summer 2018 by providing accessible opportunities to play rugby, in over 200 community locations across England, transitioning new players to local grassroots rugby clubs, in this case Bury RUFC. The project’s innovative approach will utilise rugby’s core values to increase levels of resilience and confidence among participants, as well as helping people to feel more connected to their local community.

A combined Year 9, 10 and 11 netball team travelled to Bolton School to compete in a friendly match against the Bolton Senior team.

The girls showed the ability to be able to adapt to play with different players and were victorious in their efforts with a convincing 36-22 win.
