Ten Year 7 girls took part in the Tennis Rosebowl competition 2018.

The girls were: Scarlett, Chelsianna, Martha, Maya, Hannah, Ruby, Sadie, Reilly, Amelie and Adaeze.

At the end of round robin section Chelsianna and Maya were winner and runner up of section A.

The winner and runner up of section B were Sadie and Reilly.

After the semi-final stage, Sadie and Reilly made it through to the finals. This was a competitive match with both girls giving their best.

Reilly played some of her best defensive and attacking shots but Sadie proved to be too strong an opponent and came out on top to win the title.

Well done to all girls that took part in the competition!

Well done to all the Year 8 and 9 girls who competed in the Rosebowl doubles competition.

Eight couples entered the event and, after the round robin stage, the final was between Harriet/Connie and Lucy/Eleanor.

The final produced some excellent tennis from both couples, but the Year 9 combination of Harriet and Connie proved to be just a little too much.

Year 9 girl Lauren (pictured on the far right) recently attended her first International swim meet in Stuttgart, Germany, racing on Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th June 2018.

She was the youngest of 10 members of City of Salford Swim Club attendees, and competed against a very international contingent, featuring teams from Thailand, Russia, India, Northern Ireland, Egypt, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Switzerland, Latvia and Germany.

The conditions were different to anything Lauren had previously experienced, as they were racing outside (no roof!) in an Olympic size pool, where she had to contend with the weather conditions, along with a colder pool temperature.

Over the successful weekend, Lauren won 2 x Gold medals (50m backstroke, and being the anchor leg on the 4 x 100 girls relay), 1 Silver and 5 Bronze medals.

Lauren said: "I really enjoyed the relay, and winning Gold. It's been good supporting each other and really good fun - everything was enjoyable."

Lauren has qualified to compete in English Nationals, to be held in Sheffield at the beginning of August, in three events.
