Old Boy Peter Greenhalgh donates books he wrote

Bury Grammar School Boys recently received a kind donation of a collection of books written by Old Boy Professor Peter Greenhalgh.

Peter, a major donor and supporter of the School, is an expert on classical languages, has lectured internationally on corporate finance and has written many books, articles and radio plays - for one of which he gained the SABC Academy Award for English Radio Drama.

Peter also holds a doctorate from Cambridge University, where he later taught. He has combined an academic career with many directorships in business and banking in several countries.

The books Peter donated to the School included A Miracle of HealingPompey: The Republican Prince and The Year of the Four Emperors among many others.

The School would like to thank Peter for the donation. The books are available for boys to borrow from the Boys LRC.

Peter had a tour of the School on his visit to BGS and the School invites former Old Boys and Old Girls back to School in the future.

Peter commented on how all of the staff and pupils he met were delightful, how the facilities are excellent and, above all, the marvellous atmosphere at the School. He has been supportive of the bursary for many years.
