Last week, Reception looked at another fairy tale, Little Red Riding Hood.
Over the course of the week, they read the story and sequenced different parts of the story, learning about the beginning, middle and end.
They carried word addition problems, helping Little Red Riding Hood add up how many items to put in her basket.
The class thought about how the different characters and how they were feeling at different points in the story.
They also used the computer to find out facts about real wolves.
After a music lesson, the Big Bad Wolf had broken into their classroom. He had made a big mess, left footprints on the table and left Little Red Riding Hood’s cape in their tree!
This was very shocking and prompted lots of discussion. They thought about why the wolf may have visited their classroom.
They brainstormed a list of questions they would like to ask the wolf and then wrote a letter to him.
