On Wednesday 19 September, all Year 9 and Year 10 boys studying GCSE Art took part in a joint project between Art and MFL Departments.
The boys focused on the awareness of mental health in boys and the importance of speaking up. The pupils were inspired by designer Patrick Smith, painting minimalistic compositions, including phrases in French and German.
Miss Gore, Head of Art in BGSB, said: "It was brilliant to share skills in the two departments. The pupils have produced excellent paintings and they should be very proud of their achievements."
Mr Boyd, Head of MFL in BGSB, said: "I have amazed myself - I love my painting! It has been a terrific day and it has been brilliant to work alongside talented and supportive students. I can't wait to see these paintings transform the MFL corridors. Today has helped me address my own anxieties."
Miss Frisby, MFL teacher in BGSB, said: "It has been fantastic to see the boys working in a different light. Thoroughly enjoyable day, seeing the students producing excellent paintings. Looking forward to hearing some of the phrases the boys produce."
