The History Man
Year 3 enjoyed a visit from The History Man. We thoroughly enjoyed making Scarab beetles out of clay.
We even got to stamp our name on the back in hieroglyphs!
You are what you eat... aren't you?
Year 4 explored food chains and webs this week in Science, exploring how habitats influence food chains and how all animals get their energy to survive.
Year 5 had a great time staring our new Allotment topic by taking over a bit of unused ground in school.
Clearing weeds ready for planting and getting their hands dirty was a fantastic experience for all the children.
The pupils showed their creative skills by designing their own information reports based on findings of the Indus Valley.
Learning and recapping facts about the water cycle, the pupils were able to understand this Ancient Civilisation.
The pupils have been evaluating their results of yeast, experimenting with different resources.
Their task was to see how yeast develops and grows, measuring how much gas was produced by the microbe by placing a balloon on top.
The U11 football team progressed through to the semi-final of the football league competition on Wednesday as they overcame a spirited Our Lady of Lourdes team in dramatic fashion.
Having gone two goals behind the boys managed to turn the fixture round and sneak into a three-two lead. However in the dying moments of the game Our Lady of Lourdes found an equaliser to take the game to extra time and ultimately the dreaded penalty shootout.
In a nail-biting finale, Carter produced some excellent saves, ensuring that he didn't concede at all during the shoot-out, whilst Oliver and Hakim converted the vital kicks to send the team through to the semi-finals.
Our Lady of Lourdes will be looking for revenge on May 2nd as the two teams face each other once again, this time in the quarter finals of the Knock out cup competition.
