Year 7 pupil presented with OGA Scholarship for Charity and Community Service

Old Girls’ Association Chairman, Diana Robinson, presented the 2019 Charity and Community Scholarship to Freya (Year 7) during an Assembly on Monday.

Freya is the current charity representative who has already organised a sweet sale for cancer research herself. Outside of school she has raised a lot of money for the ‘Super Josh’ charity.

At their annual reunion lunch in September, the Old Girls’ Association hold a raffle to raise money for the Year 7 Charity and Community Scholarship.

The recipient of the award is nominated by the staff and must be able to demonstrate her commitment to this subject and show evidence of what she has already achieved.

Thought and care for others are hallmarks of Bury Grammar School and its pupils. As the recipient of this award, Freya will be required to act as an ambassador in this area throughout her time in School.

You can read more about the award on the Alumni OGA page.
