Year 8 Pupil is awarded a Silver medal for trampolining at national competition

We were delighted to hear that Year 8 girl Katie Parkinson was awarded a Silver medal in the individual trampolining event at the 2017 English Championship Finals in her age group.

Katie narrowly missed the Gold by 0.3 points (the equivalent of needing to be in the air 0.3 seconds longer!).

Katie also secured the Bronze medal in the individual DMT (Double Mini Trampoline).

During the summer, Katie came 1st in the national finals in the trampolining Level 8 individual finals for her age group in Telford. Level 8 is the highest national level before moving on to the elite pathway.

Katie qualified for the event in Sheffield at Silver Level in three disciplines: individual trampoling, individual DMT and synchronised trampolining.

She is now on the elite pathway for her sport, which requires rigorous training four times a week!

Congratulations Katie!
