Young Enterprise success for Year 11 and 12 students

On Tuesday 12th March, two teams from Year 11 and Year 12 respectively took part in the Young Enterprise Bolton and Bury Area Final, held at Bolton College.

Both teams have been running their businesses since September, tasked with choosing key roles, setting up the company, financing, launching and selling their products and marketing their businesses.

The Year 11 team Eco Loco, with a passion to protect the environment, have produced metal straws for their customers. They picked up the award at the Final for their commitment to Teamwork which is an amazing feat against some tough competition.

The Year 12 team, Captain & Co, introduced the judges to their innovative product, 'Catch a Cable', a handy solution to stray wires and loose cables around the home and office. Under the leadership of MD, George Armstrong, they picked up the trophy for 'Best Marketing' in the Area Final and then were announced as one of two teams going through to the next round of the competition, the Manchester County Final, to be held at Oldham College on Thursday 28th March. Here, they will represent the Bolton and Bury area. Each student was a credit to BGS and we are really proud of them all.
