Chemistry is all around us, constantly changing, and providing endless inspiration across all sections of the school.
Experimentation, analysis and problem-solving are some of the core skills developed through studying Chemistry; this is a hands-on subject which is firmly grounded in the real world, not just the lab! Our laboratories are extremely well-equipped and allow our chemists to push themselves to truly explore theories.
Dr Garg is a postgraduate of Chemistry from the University of Manchester, who has been teaching Science at two 11-18 schools for the past fifteen years.
In this time, she has taught a range of Science subjects at KS3 and in particular Chemistry to all levels.
Dr Garg is interested in how organic chemicals in nature can be extracted, their structure determined by analytical techniques and then synthesised in the lab with the purpose of using them for medicinal and industrial purposes.
Dr Garg’s involvement with extracurricular activities include the Duke of Edinburgh's award.
