Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11)
Career Management Skills
As our pupils progress through their GCSE courses, we encourage them to be ambitious and open-minded about possible career routes.
BGS pupils take part in a school supported work experience programme and embark upon the ‘Careers Brief’, an aptitude testing and profiling scheme provided by the well-known Cambridge Occupational Analysts. Each pupil receives a personalised report and individual careers interview, carried out by a specialist team, based on their career profiles.
University visits for aspiring Oxbridge applicants are arranged during their GCSE courses and potential applicants for Competitive Courses will start a structured programme of preparation and advice led by our Competitive Courses Coordinator. Year 11 students are invited to attend our Sixth Form Open Evening, which signals the start of the A Level Options process. Sixth Form experience days give a taste of the next stage of their BGS journey and provide a valuable opportunity to work with our highly skilled Sixth Form team who offer support and advice on their next steps.
