As part of our Careers Programme, our pupils in Year 10 and students in Year 12 have the opportunity each year to participate in our Work Experience scheme.
The aims of work experience are:
• To offer experience of the working environment and to help prepare the students for adult and working life.
• To help in the development of personal and social skills required in the workplace: initiative, commitment, handling difficult situations, self-reliance, responsibility, respect for others and the ability to work in a team.
• To provide a context for Higher Education and Careers guidance.
• To provide students with experience which will enrich their personal statements when they make their university applications.
Work experience is an excellent way of helping young people to understand the world of employment. This is particularly important at this stage when choices of A Level subjects and possible careers are being considered.
