Music at BGS provides an opportunity for our students to express themselves in a variety of creative, imaginative and practical ways.
It introduces them to different approaches through investigation, presentation and the communication of their ideas through tasks based around performing, composing and listening. The pupils gain confidence by performing in front of audiences, they acquire a wide general knowledge and appreciation of a variety of musical styles and genres, they develop transferable skills through working as a part of a team, learning to lead others and through the use of technology. Their lives can also be enriched by learning an instrument and performing with one of our many instrumental and vocal ensembles, experiencing live performances and workshops delivered by visiting professionals.
