Year 6 to Year 7 Transition
The transition from Junior School to Senior School is an exciting time - and one about which both pupils and parents are likely to have lots of aspirations, hopes, thoughts and questions. Here at Bury Grammar School, we take a pride in offering clear, warm and friendly support as families go through this important period in their lives. Plenty of information and advice are communicated every step of the way and we are always here to respond to any queries.
Our home-school partnership begins well before your child enrols into Year 7 and we look forward together to embarking upon a journey which will have a significant influence on your child's life - and quite possibly on yours as well.
Please find below some of our key information to help with the progression from Year 6 into Senior School.
Promising times lie ahead!
The BGS Microsoft Surface Programme
Over the past year, pupils have spent a great deal of their time remote learning, a new concept as of 2020 owing to the current pandemic. We strongly believe in the importance of continuity of high quality, structured education during these times, not only for the pupil's education, but for their mental health and well-being. We have a strong partnership with the leading provider of 1:1 device schemes in education: Freedom Technology, who supply and maintain pupil's Microsoft Surface Go 2 devices. Pupils have their own dedicated device, allowing them to access the full suite of school programs at home and crucially in their lessons, strengthening teaching and learning at BGS.
