Sixth Form Admissions (Age 16-18)

BGS Sixth Form offers pupils an outstanding academic education, a greater sense of independence and the best possible preparation for university and for life.

External applicants are warmly welcomed, along with internal applicants, to our successful, friendly, and high-performing Sixth Form. Applicants are expected to achieve a minimum of 6 GCSEs at Grade 6 or above, with a Grade 7 or above in any subject they are considering studying at A Level. In particular, a Grade 7 will be required in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Languages, owing to the need for a solid GCSE foundation to achieve success at A Level in these subjects. 

Places are normally offered to those whom the School believes are capable of successfully undertaking a course of 3 or 4 A Levels. You will have a personalised tour of our facilities, if you would like to do so; our pupils and staff are very friendly and very much like to welcome new people to the School! Post GCSE results, you will be welcomed into School for an interview with the Head of Sixth Form at which point you can confirm your A Level subjects.

UCAS preparation and university guidance are exceptional for BGS Sixth Formers, with the majority obtaining places on their first or second choice courses at university. Thanks to the quality of teaching, high aspirations, leadership opportunities, the extraordinary number of enriching activities offered beyond the standard curriculum and outstanding UCAS/careers advice, BGS Sixth Formers really are well prepared to take on the challenges of University and beyond.

Please note, admissions for new students in to our Sixth Form are on a full fee-paying basis only - no bursaries or financial support is available.
