Year 8 GCSE Options Evening

BGS Year 8 pupils receive expert advice when choosing the GCSE subjects that are right for them.

Starting GCSE courses is an exciting time of greater independence and wider opportunities whilst focusing on academic interests and strengths. As pupils approach Year 9 they will be thinking seriously about the next crucial steps of their education and where the choices they make may take them.

Their first task is to watch these videos. Sometimes, career aspirations, such as medicine, will dictate the choices that pupils can make, but remember that pupils are likely to do best in what they enjoy. Consider carefully your strengths, interests and personal qualities, if in doubt, seek advice from any of our subject staff or members of the Academic Team.

Year 3 is new to all BGS pupils as they transition from our Infant School to our Junior Boys' School and Junior Girls' School so joining us in Year 3 is a brand new beginning for everyone!

Parents of infant pupils looking for a new experience in Juniors might want to join us in Year 3 this September - when our Year 2 Infants move up into the Junior Boys’ School and the Junior Girls’ School and the experience is brand new for everyone ( so no need to worry about being ‘the new person’ in the class).

In whichever year group pupils choose to join us, you can expect an ambitious curriculum, expert teaching, excellent results, outstanding facilities, and importantly, lots of fun!

Remembrance Assembly 2020

BGS Teacher TV

September 2020 saw the launch of a new initiative called BGS Teacher TV. This is a series of pre-recorded, bite-size, skills programmes, or episodes, created by BGS teachers and support staff. These short films are stored remotely on SharePoint for pupils, parents and staff access. The episodes are used as a skills-based library, for both in school resources and remote learning. BGS Teacher TV is available as six channels: Infants & Juniors Channel, Senior Channel, Sixth Form Channel, SnapShot Channel, Enrichment Channel and Staff Channel.
