Memorable Moments 2025
2025 has been a remarkable year at Bury Grammar School, filled with achievement, adventure, and unforgettable experiences. From academic success and sporting triumphs to inspiring trips and creative performances, our pupils and students have shone in every corner of school life.
The year began with Year 11 and Year 13 pupils working hard in their mock examinations, laying the foundations for outstanding summer results. Hundreds of pupils sat our Entrance Examinations, with many joining Seniors in September, bringing new energy and enthusiasm to our school community. ð

Year 11 pupils celebrated the School’s strongest ever GCSE grades since the 9-1 reforms. They gained the highest number of grades 9 to 7 (A** to A) in the School’s history and the best ever set of individual results.
2025 A Level results were also stunning! More than 4 in 10 grades were A*-A and over three quarters were at the ‘gold’ standard of A*-B. Five students obtained straight A*s, 18 students had all A*-As and, almost half the year group had all A*-B grades. For the 9th year running, BGS sixth formers achieved a 100% pass rate.
Our Year 13 students celebrated exceptional EPQ results, with 45% achieving the highest A* grades, and every pupil awarded a grade between A–B*. A Level English pupils explored New York, visiting literary landmarks and the 9/11 Memorial, while English Language students conducted sociolinguistic research, showing curiosity and initiative beyond the classroom. ð―
