Spectacular Performances in the Primary Division
Our Primary Division was alive with music, creativity and confidence as pupils took to the stage in two memorable productions that showcased their talents, enthusiasm and love of performance.
Lost in the West End
Our Primary Summer Show, Lost in the West End, was an unforgettable celebration of talent, creativity and ambition, taking audiences on a journey through some of the most beloved musical theatre productions. There were fantastic performances across the Junior School throughout the evening. From the spectacular songs of The Greatest Showman, The Lion King, Matilda and Oliver, to the many other memorable moments on stage, every pupil performed with enthusiasm, confidence, and talent, captivating the audience and bringing a touch of West End magic to Bury Grammar School.
The production provided a wonderful opportunity for pupils to demonstrate the many skills they develop through our extensive Enrichment programme. From acting, singing and dancing to teamwork, leadership, and resilience, every pupil played an important role in bringing the show together. The confidence and enthusiasm displayed on stage reflected the dedication and commitment shown throughout rehearsals.
Our Head of Juniors proudly told us:
"Lost in the West End highlighted many of the qualities we look to develop in our pupils, including confidence, ambition, teamwork and creativity. It was wonderful to see them embrace the challenge and perform with such enthusiasm. We are proud of what they achieved and the positive way they supported one another throughout the production. What superstars! It was wonderful to see the amount of joy on the faces of the pupils as they were performing, and getting such positive reactions from the audience is something that they will never forget!

There’s a Sunflower in My Supper Delights Audiences
Meanwhile, our Reception and Infant pupils charmed families and friends with their delightful performance of ‘There’s a Sunflower In My Supper’. The story followed Daisy the cow, whose dream of creating a beautiful garden full of flowers, trees, fruit and vegetables was met with scepticism from the other cows, led by the grumpy Mr Bull, who only wanted to grow grass for supper.
As Daisy nurtured a mysterious seed with the help of Wise Old Owl, pupils brought the heartwarming story to life through colourful costumes, expressive acting and a wonderful selection of songs, including It's A Lovely Day!, Don't Mess With Mr Bull, and Little Seeds, Big Seeds. The production celebrated themes of perseverance, friendship, curiosity, and caring for the natural world, while giving our youngest performers the opportunity to shine on stage with confidence.
At our school, we believe that learning extends far beyond the classroom. Our extensive Enrichment programme encourages pupils to develop their physical and mental wellbeing, teamwork and leadership skills, an appreciation for Arts and Culture, and an awareness of their role within the wider community. Every child is encouraged to challenge themselves and discover what they are capable of achieving.

“Watching our youngest pupils perform with such confidence, enthusiasm and joy was truly wonderful and heartwarming to see. Through songs, storytelling, and teamwork, they brought the story to life and demonstrated their confidence and creativity.
Every pupil played an important role in the production, and it was fantastic to see them grow in confidence as they prepared for the performance. We are so proud of their achievements and grateful to our dedicated staff and supportive families who helped make the show such a wonderful occasion."
