Academic Provision - Infant School

At Bury Grammar Infant School we encourage our pupils to be curious, creative, imaginative and adventurous.
Children in the Infant School receive most of their teaching from their form teachers and are also taught by subject specialist staff for Music, P.E and swimming. Individual attention is our hallmark, whether this be for the gifted and talented or for those who need a little additional help from time to time.
We know that every day is an adventure and is packed with fun, educational experiences to encourage children to make good progress. It is important to us that children develop enthusiasm for being at school and enjoy being with their friends surrounded by experienced, enthusiastic and dedicated teachers.
Our facilities are stunning. Purpose designed classrooms provide a wealth of resources enabling teaching staff to embrace the rich facilities on offer. Class sizes are small, supporting group and personalised learning, with a strong focus on developing sound skills for the future. Learning in Key Stage 1 (ages 5-7) is active, imaginative and creative, challenging and inspiring pupils to work hard to achieve.
Our children also have many opportunities to continue their development of performance skills through assemblies presented to parents, sporting activities and special events such as concerts presented in our beautiful octagonal hall. Teachers’ focus is on nurturing well-rounded and happy children in close partnership with their parents.
