Health Care
We have a highly dedicated and skilled School Health Team consisting of three Health Support Workers.
The Bury Grammar School Health Support Team are available across the whole school for first aid requirements, managing medicines, individual care plans, pastoral care and health and welfare. In addition, we have a team of teaching and support staff who are fully trained in first aid skills. Together, they work with pupils, parents and staff to ensure that medical and health needs are met.
We recognise the importance for our pupils and students to have access to counselling professional emotional support and offer the services of a qualified counsellor who provides confidential support and advice to those pupils who need it.
Our Personal, Social, Health, Economic Education (PSHEE) and Relationships and Sexuality Education (RSE) programmes highlight issues relating to health at regular intervals throughout the year. These sessions are often delivered by expert speakers from outside of school. Our bespoke scheme aims to provide our pupils with necessary life skills to make safe, informed choices, it gives them a good knowledge and understanding about the wider world and teaches them to live a healthy lifestyle, both physically and mentally. It provides pupils with the tools to move smoothly through each transitional phase and enables pupils to thrive, both now and in the future.
