Pupil Leadership

Within our school community, it is natural that pupils can, and do, lead and we strongly encourage pupils of all ages to develop their leadership skills.

Pupils are encouraged to be confident, yet sensitive to others, and to be unafraid of sharing their convictions when faced with challenging situations. This instils confidence and helps them to develop those valuable skills which will prepare them for successful and happy lives beyond school.

By developing leadership skills at the earliest opportunity, pupils develop a sense of responsibility, while care, consideration and respect for others are nurtured. Pupils in Years 7—11 are eligible for many positions of responsibility, including:

  • Form Captains
  • Sports Captains
  • Charity Committee Representatives
  • Student Council Representatives
  • Eco Representatives - Eco Committee
  • Mental Health Ambassadors
  • House Representatives
The most public form of student leadership can be found in the appointments of our Head Girl and School Captain, Deputy Head Girl/Vice Captain and Senior Leadership Teams - Sports Captains, Music Captains and Head of Events. The team play an important role in helping with the running of the school, and all Sixth Formers are expected to be role models for our younger pupils.
