Role of the Form Tutor
The Form Tutor is central to pastoral care within Bury Grammar School.
They aim to inspire and motivate, and play a key role in overseeing the academic and pastoral welfare of each pupil in their form. Pupils see their Form Tutor every afternoon during registration and can ask about any uncertainties, however small they may seem. Form Tutors take the time to get to know each pupil individually and are the link between home and school.
Whilst all staff play a key role, the Form Tutor is the main point of contact for parents during a pupil’s school career. The school carefully monitors each pupil’s progress both academically, personally and socially within the school, and would in the event of any concerns, make contact with home.
